AI video editor with transcript editing, in your browser
Make a transcript, then edit the video like a document: select words and delete them, and the video follows. Remove pauses and filler words in one click, add captions and publish to YouTube. It all runs in your browser.
How it works
- Bring a video. Upload an MP4, MOV or WebM, or open a Studio take or a live stream you saved. They all sit in one library.
- Make a transcript. Every word gets its start and end time. It costs 1 credit a minute and is kept with the recording.
- Cut by text. Select a sentence and press delete. Click once to remove pauses, once more to remove “um”, “uh” and other filler words. Each cut shows on the timeline, and undo brings it back.
- Polish it. Add captions, level the audio, crop to vertical for Shorts, add your intro, outro and logo, pick a thumbnail.
- Export or publish. Your browser renders the result into a new video in your library. Download it, or publish it to YouTube with a title, description, chapters and tags.
Edit the transcript, not the timeline
Talking-head videos, podcasts and streams are mostly speech, so the fastest way to edit them is by what was said. The transcript is word-timed: when you delete a word, the editor cuts the video at that word’s exact start and end. You can still trim, split, join and reorder clips on the timeline when you want to, and set the volume of each clip. Every change goes into the history, so you can step back through it, and your edit is saved so you can close the tab and pick it up tomorrow.
Remove pauses and filler words in one click
Long silences and fillers are the first thing viewers notice and the most tedious thing to cut by hand. The editor finds them in the transcript and removes them all at once. You see every cut it made and can put any of them back.
AI that finds what to cut
- Tighten. Reads the transcript and marks retakes, false starts and rambling. You review the suggestions and keep the ones you agree with.
- Find moments for Shorts. Picks the parts that stand on their own as a short clip. More on the AI Shorts generator page.
- Write with AI. Drafts the title, description, chapters and tags from what you actually said, with chapter times that match the edited video.
Each AI action costs 1 credit. Nothing is applied until you accept it.
Captions, audio and branding
- Captions. Burned into the video from the transcript, or downloaded as an .srt file to upload to YouTube yourself.
- Vertical crop. Turn a 16:9 video into 9:16. “Center on face” places the frame on your face, clip by clip; face detection runs on your computer.
- Level audio. Brings the whole video to -16 LUFS, a common loudness target for online video, so quiet and loud parts sound even.
- Brand kit. Save your intro, outro and logo once and add them to any video.
- Thumbnail. Pick any frame and add text on top.
Publish to YouTube
Connect your channel once. When the edit is done, choose the title, description, chapters, tags and thumbnail, and press Publish. Your browser renders the video into your library and our server does the upload to YouTube, so you can close the tab once it starts. Prefer to upload yourself? Download the file and the .srt.

Who it’s for
Creators whose videos are mostly talk: YouTube explainers and commentary, video podcasts, interviews, courses and the replays of live streams. If you record with Bert in the Studio, your take is already in the library when you stop. It isn’t built for effects-heavy edits, colour grading or multi-track music videos.
Questions
What can the Free editor do?
Everything you need for a basic edit: a 1 GB library, uploads that fit in it, trim, split, join and reorder clips, clip volume, undo with full history and saved edits. You can also make a transcript from your 20 monthly credits and cut by words or remove pauses and filler words. Exports carry a small HeisenBERT watermark. Captions, vertical crop, level audio, intro and logo, thumbnails, the AI tools and YouTube publishing start on Creator.
How much does a transcript cost?
1 credit a minute of video, rounded up to whole minutes. It’s made once and kept with the recording, so you can come back to the edit, undo cuts or export again without paying for it twice. A 30-minute episode costs 30 credits.
Where does the editing happen?
In your browser. Your recordings and uploads are kept in your HeisenBERT library, and the editor plays, cuts and renders them on your computer, so there is no render queue to wait in. The transcript is made on our servers, and the AI tools read the transcript, not the video. When you publish to YouTube, our server does the upload to your channel.
Which files can I upload?
MP4, MOV and WebM. On Creator and Pro a file can be up to 4 hours and 20 GB. On Free it has to fit in your 1 GB library. Studio recordings and live streams you saved land in the same library, so there is nothing to re-upload.
What does each AI action cost?
Tighten, Find moments for Shorts and Write with AI cost 1 credit each time you use them, even on an hour-long video. Only very long recordings can cost a little more.
